A potpourri of very short poems d’abord un en français, then one in English, and then a second poem in English, If not, for you, followed by versions of that poem en français y en español. The English title would seem to have come from a Bob Dylan song (If Not For You):

If not for you
Winter would have no spring

Quelqu’un a affiché, le long d’un de mes trajets de retour, deux lignes de graffiti : « Sans oui / C’est non ». De quoi inspirer de nombreux poèmes ! Une première ébauche :

Preparatory poem

My flat will soon be ready

For a woman who may not wish

With me to live (nor I with she),

At various moments, at her office, in her car, she caught herself thinking too.

He planned what they might do and what he was going to say when

She . . . She was wondering just how long she was going to put off saying no.

Il avait du temps pour réfléchir, et elle…

De temps en temps, à son bureau, dans sa voiture, elle s’est surprise à penser, elle aussi.

Il prévoyait ce qu’ils pourraient faire ensemble et ce qu’il allait dire quand

Elle… Elle se demandait combien de temps son pourquoi pas pouvait attendre ?

Él tenía tiempo para pensar, y ella…

De vez en cuando, en su oficina, en su coche, se sorprendió a pensando también.

Él estaba planeando lo que podrían hacer juntos y lo que iba a decir cuando

Ella se preguntó cuánto tiempo podría aplazar su tal vez o su non.
