Two (silly) poems: It’s so very great now and Stuck in traffic in my Rolls (the sonnet).
With Paris temperatures approaching 30o C in April… Time for a break from trilingualism? Plus de français y español en breve (à revenir prochainement).
It’s so very great now
It’s so very great now
What with high-tech tools
Even a shoehorn
I no longer use
I just say “Bridget”
I’m wearing shoes!
Whisper “Jean-François”
I’m completely nude!
It’s so very great now
Even in outer space
I go up for a sandwich
And come back the same day
I just say “Juanita”
And love it gets made
“Comrade Kowalski”
Gets Juanita paid
It’s all so very great now
How’d they ever before?
If to “Saul,” say, I pray
I’ll live forever more!
Stuck in traffic in my Rolls (the sonnet)
Stuck in traffic
In my Rolls
With all my money
Even so
Though late I was
You may suppose
To something important
Involving dough
Particulates too
Darkening my soul
As there I sat
In my Rolls
And bikes sailing by
Wouldn’t you know
