So finally they impeached him – Assez de vols, de menaces aussi – Querían a alguien competente

So finally they impeached him

So finally they impeached him

And all voted for

They were tired of his blather

They were tired of his war

They were tired of his stealing

They were tired of his threats

Enough with the murders

Enough lawlessness

The army, the economy

They did not want to wreck

They wanted someone in the White House

With more self-respect.

Français

Alors finalement ils en avaient assez

Alors finalement

Querían a alguien competente

y que su posición respetara.

I note this exchange between President Abraham Lincoln and a citizen. On November 18, 1863, the evening before Lincoln pronounced his now-famous Gettysburg Address, a boisterous crowd was urging the President to make a speech.

Lincoln: In my position it is somewhat important that I should not say any foolish things.
A voice from the crowd: If you can help it.
Lincoln: It very often happens that the only way to help it is to say nothing at all.
